Update From Melody Libby

OK--Here's the Skinny y'all--Apparently I have somehow acquired some critters in my left eye. Basically they are amoeba's inherent in swimming pools and other water sources. They especially love people who wear contacts. We have unofficially traced the source back to the pool we swam in when I was on vacation a couple of months ago--since that is the only pool I have been in this summer and in which I wore my contacts. These are nasty little critters and can only be killed with (aha!!) Swimming pool chemicals. Each hour I have to put in two different types of eye drops for the next 4 months. The prognosis is OK, however, the docs told me that appoximately 10% of the people do not respond to treatment and require surgery. I am trying to keep the faith, but all of this is very scary, so please keep me and the girls in each of your prayers. I go back to S&W Wednesday for a followup.
