Today's Scoop

Friends:

Good evening, all! Hope your weekend has gone well. Look at it this way. Rumor has it that we may get some rain tomorrow or Tuesday. Sure would be a nice change of pace!

Let's thank Vince and Mary for bringing our goodies this morning. We appreciate you guys, Vince and Mary! Next week, Brian and Amy Nicholson are signed up. Thanks, Amy! (We know Brian will make Amy do all of the work . . . . )

OPPORTUNITY AT THE DR. PEPPER MUSEUM
Diane (pronounced De-ohn) Berhnardt stopped by our class this morning. She is looking for a volunteer to help with a one week program that will take place August 10-13th at the Dr. Pepper Museum. Diane is the Educational Programs Director at at the D P Museum, and she is looking for some help with a camp that will take place every afternoon from Noon to 5:00. If you are interested in this possibility, please contact Diane at howx33@gmail.com. Thanks for considering this great possibility!

PRAYERS AND PRAISES

As usual, we have quite a few prayers this week. First off, please pray for the Mays. They left today for a week in New Braunfels. Pray that they will have a safe and enjoyable time.

Nicki Sanchez and Severus will be coming home on Wednesday. Pray for their safe travel as well.

Hunter Sullivan just turned 7! Praise God for a great birthday party for Sullivan. Let's pray for another great year for him.

Speaking of the Sullivans, Ben brought great news this morning that, at this point, everything is looking fine for his job. Please continue to pray that things will be okay for Ben.

Mary E. would like for us to pray for one of her students who is going through some difficult times right now. She also would like for us to pray for a little girl who is having difficulty, too. Let's pray that Mary will be the right person to help with this situation.

Also on the Erickson front, we have a great praise for Vince. Look for an article of his in the forthcoming Waco Today magazine. Rumor has it that Vince has written an article on 5 sports stars to watch in the coming months. How about that: Vince writing about sports. What a shocker. Praise God for Vince's great work! Rumor also has it that Vince will be calling plays for the China Spring football team this year. Should be some exciting games to listen to on the radio!

Last but certainly not least, Christina G. has asked that we continue to pray for patience for her as the waits to hear from Baylor. Pray for a good week for Christina.

I believe that's the scoop for this week, everyone. Dana and I hope that all of you have a great week. Come see us again next Sunday!

God bless,

Wes and Dana

Today's Stuff, and What a Terrific Week of VBS!

Friends:

Good evening! Hope you had a good weekend. Tom Watson just missed out on making history, and we just missed out on getting some rain. Oh well, maybe tomorrow! (for the rain, that is, not Watson!)

We had a good discussion this morning as we finished up Fireproof. I think everyone enjoyed watching and discussing the film. Thanks once again to Jennifer May for the great idea!

Us Nulls took care of the goodies this morning. Vince and Mary are in charge next week. Rumor has it that Malia is planning to whip up some Chinese breakfast pastries for us. We'll look forward to it, Mary!

PRAYERS AND PRAISES

How about a huge praise for everyone who volunteered for VBS this week! Wow, what a great week. Hundreds of people volunteered to make this week a reality. I think I heard Steve mention this morning that we had nearly 800 people involved one night last week. Way to go, everyone!

Mary E. is out of town this weekend at her 20th high school reunion. She will return tomorrow. Please pray for her safe travel and for Vince and Malia as they journey through life with just the two of them tonight and tomorrow.

The Hookham clan is in Iowa this week. Pray for a good trip and safe trip home for them.

Nicki and Severus are off to North Carolina this week. This will be Severus's first plane trip. Pray that he will do well and that the two of them will make their way home safely.

Beth and Matt are driving to Lubbock this week for a conference for Beth. Pray for their safe travel. The best part is that they will get to visit the thriving metropolis of Muleshoe!

We need to pray for Jennifer May as she begins work toward her Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction. Way to go, Jennifer! She will begin in May. Let's pray that everything will start off great for Jennifer.

We need to pray for Christina G. on a couple of fronts. First off, let's pray that she receives good news this week as far as her graduate work at Baylor is concerned. Also, we need to pray that she will have a better week at home this week. We are praying for you, Christina!

I think that takes care of our prayers and praises for today. Dana and I look forward to seeing all of you next Sunday morning!

VBS is Here!, and Other Class News

Friends:

Good evening, all! Hope you've had a good weekend. How about we start off with a big praise for everyone who has worked so hard on VBS! Everything appears to be off to a great start. Let's ask God to help us have a great week! Praise God for everyone who has worked so hard to make this week a success!

We also need to thank Brian and Jill V. for bringing our snacks this morning. For those of you who weren't there, you missed out on some great Panera bagels! We appreciate it, Brian and Jill. Next week, Dana and I have it covered.

PRAYERS AND PRAISES

We ran out of time this morning and didn't have a chance to get to prayers/praises, so please send along any prayers you would like to add through email. I would like to ask everyone to pray for the Saxon family. Tuesday, July 14th, is the second anniversary of Paul Saxon's death. Please ask God to be with the Saxons on this difficult day.

CLASS NEXT WEEK

Next Sunday, we will finish our last lesson on "Fireproof". I have attached (in the email) the lesson to this message. Please take a look at it before next Sunday morning if you have a chance. I think everyone has enjoyed discussing the movie!

Have a great week, everyone!

Prayer Request from Brian VanZee

Friends:

Please see the prayer request below from Brian VanZee. Thank you for your prayers for John Tibbs and his family.

Wes

--------

Wes,

If you’re putting together a prayer list for the week I would like to ask that everyone keep a co-worker of mine (John Tibbs) and his family in their thoughts and prayers. His sister (Heather Seabaugh) was diagnosed with breast cancer about a year ago and had surgery to remove the cancer but late last week they found out that she now has 2 tumors in her brain and they are doing surgery today to remove them. She is 37 years old, is married and has two young girls (9 and 7 yrs old) so her family needs strength and courage right now. Thanks!

Prayer Request from Christina Gilliam

Thanks for your prayers for Christina:

------------

Wes,

I have a prayer request. Tomorrow (Sunday) is my grandfather's 88th birthday. He passed away 5 years ago, which, to this day, I still can't believe. I miss him TERRIBLY. If you could pray for comfort and love on this day as we think of him and reflect on his wonderful life as he served as an Army Colonel in WWII. I also just need some prayers for guidance.

Thanks,

Christin
