Dear Friends:
Good afternoon, everyone! I hope that all of you are having a great weekend. Dana’s off to the grocery store, Corbin is asleep, and Raegan’s playing on the computer. I better work quickly on this message while I have some time!
First off, I want to say a big welcome to Loren and Jenny Jantz. They visited our class this morning. We enjoyed having you guys, Loren and Jenny! We look forward to seeing you again next Sunday morning.
Next, let’s say a big thank you to Jennifer and Steve May for bringing our snacks to class this morning. We appreciate it, Mays! Next week, Beth and Matt Ramsdell are in charge. Thanks for taking care of us, Matt and Beth!
PRAYERS AND PRAISES
Let’s get to our prayers and praises. I had a chance to talk with Sean Lively this morning. Cece has been struggling with a rather severe ear infection. Please pray that Cece’s ear will improve soon.
Please continue to pray for my friend Perry Glanzer and his family. For more details, click here.
We need to pray for Fred Curtis. He is one of my colleagues at Baylor. He’s also a neighbor of the Hudsons. Fred has been dealing with complications from diabetes as well as other difficulties lately. Please pray that Fred will have better days soon.
Erica Sullivan brought good news this morning about her co-worker, Cindy Raftery. Cindy is now out of the hospital and making progress. Please pray that Cindy will continue to do better.
Two couples in our class are now working to sell their homes. Please pray that the Jantz family will have good luck selling their home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (I hope I’m remembering that right!). Steve and Jennifer May also still have their home for sale here in Hewitt.
Vince and Mary Erickson brought good news this morning that they have now taken another important step in the adoption process. They are now one step away from the “matching room” in China. Please continue to pray for patience and strength for Vince and Mary.
Brian and Jill VanZee have been teaching in the pre-K class for the last 6 weeks or so, but they will be able to return to our class next Sunday. I haven’t gotten an update from Brian and Jill lately, but I believe things are still moving along fine for their adoption. Please pray that God will be with the VanZees as well.
My dad, Ronnie, came down with shingles this past week. He is doing better, but please keep him in your prayers as he recovers.
Last (and probably least!), I am headed to Cleveland on Wednesday for a conference. Please pray that my trip will go well.
OUR NEXT CLASS BOOK
The next item on the agenda is our next class book. This book will only last for 1 or 2 weeks, but our next book will be 90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper. On our blog, I have uploaded a short (2 minute) video about the book (look to the right of this message).
I plan to order several copies of the book this week. If you would like a copy of the book, please let me know and I will order one for you. I will order them on MONDAY, so, if you want a copy, PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY THEN. You can pay me when the book comes in. We will finish up the Warren book next Sunday and will discuss the Piper book on October 13th.
I think that’s all for now, everyone. Dana and I hope that all of you have a great week!
God bless,
Wes and Dana
