Mother’s Day Class Update—May 13, 2007

Dear Friends:

Good evening, everyone! Happy Mother’s Day! I hope that all of you have had a great day. I think we started the day off right this morning! Thanks again to Steve May for the great idea of having our friend Dale from Café Cappucino come to class and make breakfast for our ladies. I hope you enjoyed it, ladies! The pancakes were delicious, I must say. For you men who have not paid (and that includes me!), please contact Steve May at smay@hot.rr.com. Let’s make sure that we pay Steve back ASAP!

Next week, the Goolsbys are in charge of bringing our snacks. Thanks, Goolsbys!

We have a slew of prayers and praises this week, so let’s get started:

We were fortunate enough to have Bill Brooks with us this morning for a while (I think it had something to do with the pancakes), and Bill has asked us to pray for his son, Blake. Blake is currently at school at the Air Force Academy. Please pray for God’s strength and wisdom for Blake.

We also were delighted to have Wayne Williams with us this morning (again, I think this had something to do with the pancakes, but I’m not sure), and Wayne has asked us to pray for everyone who is participating and helping with the Peru Mission Trip. They leave in only a few weeks! Please pray that God will bless everyone who will be doing this very important work.

We need to pray for Brian Nicholson’s Aunt Cindy. She is currently in ICU in Austin. Pray, also, for Brian’s mom who is there with her. Pray, especially, for Cindy. She needs God’s help in leading her back to Christ.

Also on the Nicholson front, how about a praise for Councilman-elect Nicholson! That’s right, Brian Nicholson was elected to the Hewitt City Council yesterday. Way to go, Brian! Congratulations are definitely in order. Please pray that God will be with Brian as he begins his important tenure of service to the Hewitt community.

The Mays have asked us to pray for Mrs. Brummett’s mother (Mrs. Brummett is Benjamin’s teacher). Mrs. Brummett’s mom is currently in ICU. Please pray for healing.

Bernie Hookham brought a praise this morning that her brother, Eric, graduated this weekend from the University of Iowa. Way to go, Eric! Ask God to be with Eric as he begins his journey after school.

Franci Rogers has asked us to pray for one of her friends and co-workers, Kay Boatman. Kay’s husband, Jim, was in a bad car accident last week. He is currently in the hospital. Please pray for comfort for Kay and for healing for Jim.

We need to continue to pray for Dan McGee. Dan is one of the Rogers’ neighbors who has been sick for quite some time. Please ask God to be with Dan and to help him recover.

Also from Franci, she has asked us to pray for Jennifer Good and her husband, George Suhem. Jennifer was set to have her baby this afternoon. Please pray for the new little one and for Jennifer as she recovers from giving birth.

Let’s pray for all of the parents and school personnel who will be bringing the school year to a close during the next few weeks. Pray that everyone will have a good end to the school year.

The Mays brought a great praise this morning that Benjamin May has received commendations for all three of his TAKS tests. Way to go, Benjamin! Let’s thank God for this great work by Benjamin and ask God to continue to be with him during the years ahead.

Joann Dominguez has asked us to pray for her sister. Pray for healing for their relationship and for better days ahead.

Shelley Buhner has asked us to pray for their friends Murray (sp.?!) and Kim Evans. Murray’s mom has cervical cancer and is not doing well. Pray for recovery for her. Pray, also, for Murray. He lost his dad recently and now is dealing with the sickness of his mother. Pray that God will be with the entire family.

As Jennifer Fadal mentioned in her email earlier this week, her Aunt passed away this week. Pray that God will be with Jennifer and her family during this time of mourning. Please pray, especially, for comfort for Bobby Woodard, Jennifer’s uncle.

Kris Tooley has asked us to pray for a gentleman he knows named Chris. Pray that Chris and his girlfriend will get things straightened out very soon.

We need to pray for Barry and Erica, who are traveling during the next week or so. Barry is bear hunting in Canada, and Erica is off to some exotic island that I just can’t recall at this point. Pray for safe travel and a relaxing time for Barry and Erica (pray, also, that Barry will in fact do the hunting, rather than the bears hunting him)

Let’s continue to pray for Matt and Jenny LaSeur. Mark (their new little one) is not sleeping all that well. And, believe it or not, he is struggling with reflex (sound familiar, anyone?!). Please pray for strength for Matt and Jenny and for healing and good nights for Mark. We’ve been there, Matt and Jenny! Hang in there! We are praying for you!

Last but absolutely not least, let’s say a big praise for the Schneiders! As those of you who were in church this morning know, Emmie was baptized today. Way to go, Schneiders! You guys looked great up there. Praise God for this very important dedication! Ask God to be with Emmie and our church as we provide guidance for her and the Schneider family.

I think that takes care of everything for this Sunday, everyone. Dana and I enjoyed seeing all of you today. Have a great week, and we look forward to seeing all of you next Sunday morning!

God bless,

Wes and Dana
