Class Update--May 6, 2007

Dear Class Friends:

Good afternoon, everyone! Dana and I hope that all of you have had a great Sunday. Let’s be sure and thank Barry and Erica Sullivan for bringing our donuts this morning. We appreciate it, Sullivans! Next week, Mr. Rogers (sweater and all) and his lovely wife, Franci, are in charge of our snacks. Thanks for taking care of us, Mr. Rogers!

Speaking of next week, we have a special event planned for the ladies next Sunday morning. I plan to send a separate email about this matter later this evening. I hope all of you ladies can be with us next Sunday!

I want to thank Joann Dominguez again for agreeing to be a our class’s “point person” with regard to preparing for VBS. Please talk with Joann about how you can help. Thank you, Joann, for doing this very important work!

Now let’s get to our prayers and praises:

We need to pray for Reese Nicholson. She was home with a 103 degree fever this morning. She apparently has a virus. Please pray for her quick recovery and for her mother’s perseverance! Hang in there, Amy!

Also on the Nicholson front, Brooke turned 3 yesterday. Happy Birthday, Miss Brooke!

We also need to say a praise that Mr. Carter Rogers is feeling much better after a bit of sickness this week.

Vince E. has asked us to continue to pray for his friend, Larry. Larry has made some bad decisions with money recently. Please pray that God will intervene to help Larry. Pray, also, for everyone who is trying to help Larry to get his life headed in the right direction.

Steve May brought a praise and prayer this morning for his niece, Colby (sp.?). Colby will begin law school at Tulane next fall. Please pray that everything will begin smoothly for her.

Joann Dominguez has asked us to pray for her family as they prepare to attend a Mother-daughter banquet soon. Please pray that the banquet will serve as a way to bring these ladies together.

Joann also has asked us to continue to pray for her brother, Ricky.

Melody Libby brought us a few prayers this morning. Her daughter, Lorelei, has a ballet recital tomorrow. Please pray for Lorelei as she prepares for this big event! Melody’s mom, Rosemary, also will be driving home to Lubbock this week. Pray for her safe travel. Last but not least, Melody would like for us to pray for her and for all of the girls that she is working with through her job. Pray that God will be with Melody as she does the crucially important work of helping these girls to get on track.

Christina LeMay has asked us to pray for her son, Matthew Turrin. He will begin school at the University of Houston this summer. Please pray that things will start out smoothly for Matthew.

We also need to pray for the Creed family in Alabama. As I mentioned earlier this week, their daughter, Caitlin, died in a car wreck last weekend. Please pray for comfort for everyone who is mourning this terribly sad, tragic loss.

Franci R. would like for us to pray for one of her friends, Kelly. Kelly has been dealing with lots of faith questions lately and could use our prayers as she tries to get things straightened out.

Last but not least, please continue to pray for the Saxon family. They need our prayers for strength. For a reminder of what it’s like to face life with courage, click here:

I think that takes care of our prayers and praises for this Sunday, everyone. Dana and I enjoyed seeing and hearing from everyone this morning! We hope that all of you have a great week, and we look forward to seeing you next Sunday morning—on Mother’s Day!

God bless,

Wes and Dana
