Friends:
Good afternoon! We have lots of prayers and other matters to share today. First, however, I want to welcome the guests that we had visit our class this morning. We were quite pleased to have two new couples with us today: Van and Carolyn Walker and Carol and Jay Ehret. Great to have you guys, Walkers and Ehrets! I do hope that you will come back and see us again next Sunday. We'll be looking for you!
Next, let's say thanks to the Hookhams for bringing our donuts today. Appreciate it, Hookhams! Next week, Ben and Teresa Sullivan are in charge. Thanks, Sullivans!
PRAYERS AND PRAISES
First off, we want to continue our prayers for Matt and Beth Ramsdell. I believe that most if not all of you know the difficult news about their baby. Please pray that God will continue to surround Matt, Beth, and their families with love, comfort, and strength during this time. Matt and Beth, we are here for you guys! Please let us know what we can do for you. I promise that you will have much brighter days in the not too distant future. One day at at time!
Vince E. has a few prayers for us this week. He has asked that we pray for Matt Hines, one of his co-workers. Matt's young boy, Jonathan, has a large tumor. Things look difficult for Jonathan at this time. Please pray that God will be with Jonathan and his family.
Vince also would like for us to pray for the family of Mary Bowerly. She passed away this past week. Mary was a very important friend to Vince. Pray for comfort during this time of grieving for Mary's family.
Also from Vince, we need to continue to pray for Vince's friends Cole and Iva. The trial to finalize things with the two young children they have been keeping has finally arrived. Pray that God will be with Cole and Iva and this entire process.
Praise God for Raelynn VanZee! Let's praise the VanZee's decision to have Raelynn baptized this morning. You guys looked great up there, Brian and Jill! (Robbie, on the other hand . . . .)
Amy Nicholson has asked that we pray for her brother and his wife. They are three weeks from having their first baby, but the baby has been having some difficulties growing. Ask God to be with mother and baby during these crucial days.
We also need to pray for Amy's granddad. He has pneumonia and is in the hospital. Pray for his comfort and for better days.
Teresa Sullivan would like for us to pray for her friend and co-worker Melissa. Melissa is having a hard time with her pregnancy. Ask God to be with Melissa and the baby.
Trey and Cathy have asked that we pray for some of their friends who have bee having a hard time getting pregnant. They are currently in Dallas trying to figure out next steps. Ask that God will be with them as they make some important decisions.
Jen Burney would like for us to pray for some difficult decisions she is facing at work. Ask that God will help Jen with what she is facing.
We also need to continue to pray for Brad Burney. His recovery from surgery seems to be going fine, but please continue to pray for him and his recovery.
Let's also pray for everyone who has been impacted by the situation with the compound in West Texas. Pray for a peaceful resolution to the situation.
Russ Jacque has asked that we pray for one of his friends named Kelly. Her mom has been dealing with a blood clot. Pray that God will be with Kelly's mom as she recovers.
Carolyn Walker would like for us to pray for their son Colby. He recently broke his knee cap while running the hurdles in a track meet (ouch!). Please pray that the Walkers will get good advice and that Colby will recover without having to resort to surgery.
-----------
I believe that takes care of our news and prayers for this Sunday. Oh, yes. One more thing. Don't forget about the VanZee Cookout that is scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd, at 5:00! This will be a great event for our class. Be sure to put it on your calendars!
Have a great week, folks.
