Friends:
Good afternoon, all! Hope you've had a great day. Lots going on in our church. First off, some of us just got home from a terrific "Time to Grow" meeting at the Family Life Center. Lots of people working hard to grow our church! Let's pray that God will bless our church through all of this hard work.
Next, let's thank Ben and Teresa Sullivan for bringing our donuts this morning. We appreciate you doing this for us, Sullivans. Next week, us Nulls are lined up to take care of snacks. Rumor has it that Dana's gonna cook a big breakfast for everyone!
Also on the announcement front, we did some planning this morning for the Brisket Cookout, which will begin at 5:00 p.m. on May 3rd at the home of Brian and Jill VanZee (map to follow in a week or so). Thank you, Brian and Jilll, for opening your home to us! We certainly appreciate your hospitality. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING BY APRIL 27TH. Brian needs a hard count so that he knows how much brisket to make. We also passed around a sign-up form this morning for the various goods that we will need to make this event happen. If you didn't have a chance to sign up this morning and you want to bring something (for example a salad or a side dish), just let me know through email. Be sure to let me know about your attendance through email as well.
PRAYERS AND PRAISES
We have quite a few important prayers and praises this week. First off, CONGRATULATIONS ARE IN ORDER FOR THE NICHOLSONS! That's right, Amy will be giving birth to the third Nicholson child in October. Praise God for this terrific news! Pray that God will surround Amy and this baby with strength and health. We'll be praying for you and this baby every day, Amy. We will pray for smooth, healthy days.
I have a praise that my friend Perry Glanzer and his wife Rhonda seem to be doing a bit better. Please continue to pray for Rhonda's health. More here.
Shawn and Shelley Buhner (ahem!) are in Hawaii this week. Please pray for their safe travel and for a restful time. Please, also, continue to pray for Shawn as he tries to figure out what is best for his parents.
Greg Hudson has asked that we pray for Heather Curtis. She is dealing with some neck problems, perhaps a pinched nerve. Please pray for Heather's health and for her mother, Karen, who has had a rough few months.
We need to continue to pray for Vince's friends Cole and Iva. The trial to determine where the kids they have been keeping will go began last week. Please ask for God's presence during this difficult time of decision-making. Pray for peace and rest for Cole and Iva.
Brian VanZee brought news this morning that his dad's cousin died this past week in a tragic bike accident. Please pray for everyone who is mourning this terrible loss.
In very different VanZee news, Jill celebrates her birthday this week. Happy birthday, Jill! Pray that God will be with Jill on her special day.
Ben Sullivan has asked that we pray for Gabe Dominguez. We don't know many details here (help us out, Joann!), but we think Gabe was in the hospital this morning with some chest pains. Please pray for health and strength for Gabe.
Robbie Sullivan turns 2 this week! Please ask God to be with Robbie on his special day.
Dave McCrary has asked that we pray for everyone at his TV station. Pray that they will have smoother days this summer after some transition time.
We need to continue to pray for all of the kids who have been impacted by the Eldorado compound situation. Pray that God will be with these kids during this difficult time.
Last but not least, we need to continue our prayers for Amy Nicholson's brother and sister-in-law. The good news is that the baby seems to be doing a bit better. Amy's sister-in-law has two weeks left to carry the baby. Please pray that the baby will go to full term and that he/she will arrive in complete health. Pray for strength for mom during recovery as well.
-----------
Oh, I just remembered one more announcement. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR CLASS! I'm looking at a document right here that shows that our first Christian Living class took place on April 14, 2002. We're six years old! Praise God for everything that he has done to bless our class during the past six years. Here's to another great year ahead!
I think that covers everything for this Sunday evening, folks. Dana and I hope all of you have a great week.
See you next Sunday!
God bless,
Wes and Dana
