Get This, Next Week is Thanksgiving!, and Other News

Friends:

Good evening, all! My plan is to try and get this message written and shipped off before Ms. Raegan and I leave to visit the McCrary family and then head down to watch the Baylor Bear basketball team. Here goes!

First, let's thank Salley Taylor and Chris Schmid for bringing us some delicious cake this morning. Great stuff, Salley! (Or was it Chris?!). Next week, the Mays are in charge.

PRAYERS AND PRAISES

Now, on to our prayers and praises:

I have lots of news to share about our Christmas Party (which is set to go!), but I'll save that for a separate message.

Please pray for Amy Nicholson and the Nicholson family. Amy will be having shoulder surgery this Wednesday to repair some tissue damage and to do some other work. Please pray that God will be with Amy during her surgery. Pray for her recovery as well. She will be without the use of her right arm for several weeks. We will be arranging some help for the Nicholsons during Amy's recovery. We will have more details on this once we've talked with others and figured out the best way to help the Nicholsons. They will have family in town for a few weeks to help out.

Mary Erickson will be traveling to California to visit friends. Please pray for her safe travel.

Salley T.'s mom will be doing lots of traveling this week. Please pray that her trips will go well and that she will travel safely.

Brian VanZee is currently out of town and won't be home until Thursday. Please pray for safe travel for Brian.

Robbie R. is headed to Memphis to do a little picture-taking. Pray for safe travel and successful shootin' for Mr. Rogers.

Jennifer May and her school will be having parent-teacher conferences all day tomorrow. Pray for a good day for them.

Jennifer May also would like for us to pray for Johnny and Doyle, two friends of Jennifer's mom. Johnny has bladder cancer, and Doyle has been diagnosed with cancer of the larynx. Please pray for good decision-making and better health for Johnny and Doyle.

Two of our families still need our prayers to help them find buyers for their homes. The Jantzes recently made a decision to hire a new realtor. The Mays (and Steve in particular, I think!) have been doing lots of work to improve the chances that a buyer will come along. Please pray for the Mays and the Jantzes during this stressful time.

-----------

I believe that covers matters for this Sunday, everyone. I think I got done in time to go see our friend Khalil Coltrain do his thing at the BU game! Dana and I hope that all of you have a great week. Next Sunday, we'll move on to Chapter 2 in the Boa book, which is on Character and its role in developing good Christian leaders.

See you next Sunday!

God bless,

Wes and Dana
