Class Matters: News, Prayers and Related Stuff

Friends:

Good afternoon, all! Well, although I'm a bit tired, I'm glad to be home. I have a few announcements before I dive into our prayers and praises.

First off, I will finalize plans this week for our Christmas Party. We will be catering the event. We'll probably have Fajitas. Don't forget to put the date (Dec 14, 5:00 p.m., at the FLC) on your calendar!

Next, let's say a big thank you to Vince and Mary for bringing our donuts this morning. We appreciate it, Ericksons! Next sunday, the Schmid-Taylor show will hook us up. Thanks, Chris and Salley!

Now, how about we move on to our prayers and praises:

Franci and Robbie would like for us to pray for their friend Dick in Florida. He is dealing with cancer. The Rogers also would like for us to pray for a friend of theirs, Al Carter (where Carter got his name!). Al is having knee surgery soon.

I would like for us to continue to pray for the Glanzer family. Some of Rhonda's symptoms have returned. Please pray for relief for her. Perry also will be traveling this week. Pray for safe travel for him. More here.

Vince and Mary have asked that we pray for the David Hurn (sp.?) family. They have been going through lots of difficult times recently.

Barry Sullivan's Aunt continues to need our prayers. Her breast cancer surgery will be on Nov. 7th. Please pray that God will be with her on this important day. Barry also brought a praise that the medicines have been doing some good for her.

We need to continue our prayers for the Reed family. Landry's sister came down with strep throat this past week. Please pray that the sickness will not spread to Landry. Pray for protection for him.

Let's pray for Ben Sullivan. He hops on a helicopter bright and early Tuesday morning to head out to a rig in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. Please pray that God will watch over Ben. Teresa also brought a praise that Ben has done very well in all of his tests in order to get this job. Way to go, Ben!

Brian VanZee reported this morning that both of his aunts are making some improvement. Praise God for this great news! Brian's aunt who suffered the aneurysm is doing better and is even remembering things better now. Please pray for her continued improvement. Brian's other aunt, the one who suffers from MS and who was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, is also making progress. She still, however, needs us to pray for her strength.

Mary Erickson has asked that we pray for her friends Kelly and David and their baby Zach. In addition to Zach's medical struggles, the family will be moving to San Antonio this week. Pray that God will be with them as they make the move.

Mary also would like for us to pray for her friend Amy. Amy's husband is in Iraq. Pray that God will watch over him. Pray that everything will go smoothly so that he can return to his family at Christmas.

I think that takes care of our prayers and praises for this week. I think everyone enjoyed our reading and discussion of 90 Minutes in Heaven. I know I did! Next week, we will move on to The Perfect Leader. For those of you who asked me to, I ordered books for you last Monday. The only problem is that they still haven't come in! I will let you know as soon as they do. Even if we don't have the books, however, we'll begin with it next week.

Have a great week, everyone!

Wes and Dana
