This Week's News, Prayers, and Related Stuff

Good evening, all! Hope everyone's had a good weekend. Thanks once again to Steve May for leading us through a great discussion of our class book, Lord Save Us from Your Followers. For those of you who haven't been with us lately, you're missing a fascinating book!

Thanks also to Vince and Mary Erickson for bringing our donuts this morning. Thanks, Ericksons! (Mary, you should be proud of Vince. He remembered without any trouble at all!). Next week, the Goolsbys are in charge of snacks. Thanks, Sean and Stefany!

Let's get to our prayers and praises:

Lots of our ladies were out of town this weekend scrapbooking somewhere near Dallas. I think everyone is home by now, but let's pray for safe travel and a good conclusion to their weekend nonetheless. All of our single Dads this weekend did a heroic job getting the youngsters to church on-time, even early!

Amy Nicholson has been sick with the stomach flu. It doesn't appear that this sickness has anything to do with the new Nicholson-baby-on-the way. Let's be sure to pray for better health and better days for Amy.

Vince E. has asked that we pray for his brother as he makes a major career charge in Oklahoma. His name is Mahlon (pronounced Maylon). Please pray that everything will go smoothly for Mahlon during this time of transition.

We also need to pray for Vince's parents. Mahlon will be living with them for a few weeks while he makes this transition. Pray for health and strength for Vince's parents.

Kayla Jacque has asked us to pray for her cousin's family. Kayla's cousin, Mary, passed away recently. Please pray for everyone in Kayla's family who is grieving. We also need to pray for Mary's two daughters. Pray for God's strength and comfort for these young girls during this difficult time.

Shelley Buhner has asked that we pray for her friend Mike Hesser as he makes a transition with this job. Pray that everything will work out well for Mike.

Also on the Buhner front, Shawn brought good news this morning about her mom. She is now living in an assisted living facility, and things seem to be going just fine. Please continue to pray that everything will go well for Shawn's mom. Pray, also, for Shawn's dad as he makes decisions about moving as well.

Last but not least, let's say a praise for all of our little kindergarteners who are having kindergarten graduation these days. Praise God for these little ones!

I think that's all for this evening, folks. Next week, we will be welcoming John Mark Brabon into our class. I suspectthat most of you know that this week is Missions Week. Let's look forward to hearing about John Mark's missionary experiences next week.

Have a great week, everyone!

See you next Sunday,

Wes and Dana
